Online Earlier is the final publication of fully edited and proof-read articles
for print in future issues that are published online as soon as they are ready.
Articles published Online Earlier are not changed after their online
publication and will be printed identically. The date of Online Earlier
publication is discernible from the link to each contribution and will also
appear on the print version.

Under the current version of the ICZN, online publications are not
taxonomically significant and articles that ensue changes of zoological
nomenclature can thus only be published online after publication of the
print version.
