  • Abstract: The current knowledge of distribution and mode of life of the honey ant Prenolepis nitens (Mayr, 1852) in Austria, is summarized. All findings of this rare ant species in Austria are listed; ecological and biological observations are summed up. Further spreading in Austria should be examined.
