Abstract: New findings of fourteen remarkable species of ants are reported. Tetramorium krox Ruzsky, 1903 is new to Austria, Fonnica transkaucasica Nassonov, 1889 is new to Upper Austria, Proceratium melinum (Roger, 1860), Mynnica hirsuta Elmes, 1978 and Lasius bicomis (FÖRSTER, 1850) are new to Styria. The hitherto known distribution of some of these species in the provinces of Austria is given.
